La Paz, Bolivia

The ‘Cholas’ are an emblematic symbol of Bolivia's vibrant culture and history. These traditional Aymara women are easily recognizable by their distinctive clothing: colourful layered skirts, embroidered shawls, and the iconic bowler hats, known as ‘bombines’. Their outfits are a deep-rooted expression of cultural heritage and identity.

Shot on 35mm film.
